Hi!!
It seems ironic to me that for as much as I love to journal my trips and my life (I started about 25 years ago), that this is my very first blog. I have always wanted to try blogging but never felt like I would be any good at it and who would read it?
Why now… Well glad you asked… I am led to and have a heart for the people of Eswatini and truly believe this is where the Lord is calling to me serve. That being said, it is a way to share what God is doing in not just my life but the lives of God’s children in Eswatini. I am honored and would love for you to come along side of me with your prayers, comments, donations and encouraging words. This is a total life change going from corporate America to the missionary fields. I said yes to Jesus and ….
Well, here we go!
Come to think about it I do have a lot to say. LOL if you ask any of my friends, they will tell you that I talk quite a bit. (I am a listener also). So where do I start?
If I look back, from an early age I have been blessed to be able to travel. Believe it or not for years I thought that my mom just wanted to send me away, although I couldn’t understand why, she is a loving mother, one day I was fixing my hair in the mirror and talking to God about my mother, and I felt an unction to call her. I called and asked “mom why was I sent away on every school vacation” she said “I wasn’t sending you away, I wanted you to go as many places as we could afford because I didn’t have that opportunity” I cried. You see my mom was born and raised in Mississippi, she was a family of 8, 4 boys and 4 girls. She was the second born and the eldest girl, there weren’t opportunities for her to travel. I can remember being a part of the YMCA summer camps, we went camping, canoeing, and we went on a few overnight trips, my middle school (5th to 8th grade) offered a trip to Washington D.C. every year, and every year I sold World’s Finest (back when they were much larger and less expensive) candy bars to raise money. My mother and grandfather did most of the selling. I went to visit family in Mississippi, New Jersey, Mount Vernon, New York, California, and Florida. My grandmother took me to see so many Broadway plays, granddaddy took me to the baseball games at Shea and Yankee Stadiums. This is where I believe my love for traveling was born, all leading up to this point.
Ok so I am going to end it here. (Only because I am unsure of how long it should be, and I don’t want to bore anyone!!)
